When you crunch the numbers, commercial and industrial energy efficiency just makes sense. Each year, the U.S. spends $400 billion to power our buildings. That’s about $200 billion each spent on commercial and industrial facilities, and about 50 percent of the energy in the U.S. economy. Reducing our energy waste in these buildings — and doing so cost-effectively — not only would create well-paying jobs, but also save more than $80 billion per year on energy bills.
