United Airlines has launched a new sustainability initiative to assess the environmental performance of its suppliers and strengthen key relationships. The programme, called Sustainable Supply Chain (SSC), will involve the company measuring and evaluating the sustainability of its current suppliers’ products and operations through a comprehensive survey. This will start with those suppliers in traditionally high-risk industries as well as members of the airline’s strategic supplier community.
