D’après The Poultry Site, la chaîne de supermarchés britannique Tesco « s’est engagée à acheter plus de produits locaux et à raccourcir la chaîne d’approvisionnement ». Tesco a annoncé qu’il envisageait de proposer « des contrats directs aux agriculteurs pour fournir du bœuf Aberdeen Angus et du porc frais », en plus de son initiative actuelle « Sustainable Dairy Group » (groupe laitier durable).
