American Honda Motor, Hyundai America Technical Center, Nissan North America and Subaru of America have moved to improve supply chain sustainability by joining a specialist trade association.
The automotive companies announced that they have joined the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP), collaboration between automobile manufacturers, their suppliers, and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
"We are very pleased to welcome these four new automobile manufacturers into SP," said SP’s chair, Randy Leslie, vice president and general manager, Johnson Controls, Automotive Experience.
He added that SP is a partnership of automobile OEMs and suppliers working together to advance environmental sustainability through the automotive supply chain in collaboration with the US EPA.
“Our new member companies are committed to reducing their environmental footprint and supporting the environmental innovation of their suppliers and will be an excellent addition to our partnership," he said.
Steve Hellem, SP’s executive director pointed out that the addition of Honda, Hyundai, Nissan and Subaru will see the companies join SP’s present OEM members that include Chrysler, Ford and General Motors.
