Walmart has launched a programme to provide training to women working for companies in its global supply chain.
The retail giant said its Women in Factories programme is designed to provide support for some 60,000 women working in factories that supply products to Walmart and other retailers.

A new survey of buyers and suppliers worldwide reports that two-thirds of global trade professionals are considering shifting sourcing operations outside of China.
The report, The State of Global Trade in 2012, which was produced by trade intelligence company Panjiva and the Global Sourcing Council, noted that revising sourcing strategies is a top priority. It found that buyers are shifting sourcing outside of China.

AT&T has reported that, during 2011, it spent $12bn with diverse suppliers
According to the communications company last year’s focus on supply chain diversity meant that it beat its own internal target, which was to achieve 21.5% of total spend on diverse suppliers by 2012.
